A detailed interpretation of raw materials used in the production of Artificial stones

I believe that everyone has a certain understanding of Artificial stone molds, but there is no deeper understanding of what raw materials are used, maybe this article can give you the answer.

1. What raw materials are needed to produce artificial stone?

A. Lightweight ceramsite/stone; Small ceramsite (1-3mm) and Large ceramsite (7-10mm);

B. 42.5# Portland cement;

C. Washed sand or coarse sand with small stones;

D. Water reducing agent; cold northern climate: antifreeze;

E. Pigment: Shanghai Yipin; Germany Bayer;

F. Release agent.

2. What kind of colors are used in the production of Artificial stones?

We recommend using iron oxide pigments, such as Shanghai Yipin/Germany Bayer pigments (yipin/bayer), with an iron oxide content of more than 97%. Mix the colors and water, stir well, then spray on the mold with spray gun.

3. What tools and machines are needed to produce artificial stones?

A. Mold (mold tray/mold frame);

B. Color matching room (iron oxide pigment + spray gun + air compressor);

C. Mixer;

D. Batching machine;

E. Drying room (heating table, consisting of four heating rods);

F. Forklift.

  • How to prolong the mold’s service life ?

A. Store the used molds in the warehouse, don’t expose to the sun;

B. Use wooden pallets to avoid deformation or damage.

C. Use release agent before spray color, the mold is easier to demould without contamination.

5. How to clean the artificial stone mold after long-term use?

Naturally dried molds do not require cleaning.

In case of reverse osmosis of color on the mold:

1. The ratio of oxalic acid to water: 1:20; the specific ratio can be tried by yourself; rinse with clean water and dry.

2. Rubber/PVC cleaning agent; spray the surface directly; cover with paper/plastic film; spray evenly; place in a ventilated drying room or drying room for one day, then remove the covering and rinse with water.

Artificial stone molds are now more and more widely used. If you are interested, welcome to contact & consult us.
